Fun With Words: Say Hello To Our Onomatopoeia Babies!

We are so excited about our Onomatopoeia babies! Syrup and Peanut are the moms, giving birth on March 8th and March 11th. Ash was the father of both litters.

Syrup had 5 babies and Peanut had only 3 so these babies have had lots of attention (and milk!) from their moms. They are growing quickly and being handled regularly to prepare them for their new homes.

Cost: Silvermane – $20 Non-Silvermane – $15

All babies in these litters have standard ears.

About Silvermane:

Silvermane is a type of coat that will change as these babies get older. They are born with their base color, and as they age the tips of their hair will become hollow. This creates a beautiful silvering effect and makes their coats feel super soft. It is really a stunning effect! The dark mask on their muzzles indicates that they carry the Silvermane gene even if the silvering has not begun yet. It is possible for them to carry the gene and not show the mask as babies. It can become visible as late as 12 weeks!

We do our best to identify genes, but cannot guarantee how a baby’s coat will change after they leave our rattery.

Reminder:

We only sell in pairs or more. There are only two males in these litters, so they will need to be sold together. We hope you understand. Rats are very social creatures and need a rat companion to stay mentally healthy.

Onomatopoeia Babies: Holdbacks

We are keeping a few holdbacks from these litters to build our Silvermane line. If you like our holdbacks, keep watch for future updates. Assuming these babies continue to be healthy, we will repeat these pairings once the babies have weaned and the moms have had time to recover!

Our Onomatopoeia Females: 2 Weeks Old

Our Onomatopoeia Males: 2 Weeks Old

Crash was born to Syrup and Boom was born to Peanut. The litters are only a few days apart and they are being socialized together. Since they are our only males between these two litters, they must be sold together.
